The Kesteven 'Dog Pack' took to the field on Saturday determined to avenge the defeat suffered away earlier in the season to the red and blacks 'A' team.

They wasted no time in doing so as with less than a minute played the ball was worked into the hands of Sean Templeton, who spotted a gap and kept running until he crossed the line without a hand being laid on him. This was to set the tone for a very satisfactory first 40 minutes which saw the power runners in the Kesteven line up make hay as the Sleaford tackling lacked potency. Tyrone Miles in particular was enjoying the spaces available and and powered to a first half brace, in which his first saw him swatting players to the ground on the way to the line and he was joined by Templeton who's second try began as an impressive team effort involving the full width of the pitch before play was swtiched back inside from Charles on the wing to the lively Will Cann who in turn off loaded to Templeton and still with much work to do fairly bullied his way over the line. He unfortunately left the field shortly after with an injury to be replaced by the equally powerful Jake Hughes. Miles second was a classic number 8 pick up, which again left nothing to the imagination as he ran through rather than around the would be tacklers.
There was a welcome try for young second row Joe Cooke who finished well, and Will Cann also forced his way to the scoresheet for the first of his two tries, with Andy Price also crossing the line.

With a full bench captain Pete Dolan rang the usual half time changes, but the second half was to be no easier for the Sleaford side. The tries were soon flowing as Miles quickly took the opportunity to complete a well deserved hat trick. Will Cann had time to complete his second after a jinking run before he left the field, before the forwards again took control with Andy Peabody finishing a good move and then Ollie Hanson running through a gap for a well deserved try. Fly half Harry Martin, had been very measured with his distribution all day, and may have seemed quiet, but his good work was rewarded as he found his way to the line late in the half and following a few moment of white line fever, Peabody gained his secodn as he twisted and turned off a number 8 pick up for his brace.

A wholly satisfactory performance form the 2nd xv, who played the game in the right ways given the opposition. No Sleaford side should be underestimated, and given their difficulties, we must thank them for a good game, and also to Scott Odhams, who played a full 80 minutes in red and black and was a constant annoying thorn in the black army's side. Thanks also to Jake Hughes, Will Price, and Rob Windsor who also spent time playing for the oppostion, all of who were a handful!

Next week sees the 'Dog Pack' finally return to league action with the first of 3 inportant league double headers with Matlock 3rds the visitore to Woodnook.
